Abstract

In the framework of criminal cooperation in the European Union, if one agency has proven its worth over the years, it has been the European Union Agency for Criminal Judicial Cooperation or Eurojust. Created in 2002, Eurojust was created with the intention of promoting cooperation in an area considered to be part of the "hard" core of national sovereignty. Despite the constant obstacles that integration in this field has suffered and continues to suffer, the work of the Agency during these twenty years in its progress is undeniable. Its growing protagonism in the prosecution of the crimes that seem to be taking place in the current armed conflict in Ukraine allows to underline its importance beyond the mere cooperative field, placing it among the Agencies that allow the achievement of the objectives proclaimed by the European Union as a global actor.
